DOC administers the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in New Zealand through regulating the movement of endangered species and their parts across New Zealand's borders. He angittanga | About the role We have a fixed-term employment opportunity available for a Data Administrator based in Auckland.

The role will see you working for a minimum of 30 hours per week. Additional hours are possible, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week, depending on the workload. This role is to provide administrative support, mainly data entry to support DOC's CITES team.

The work will help in monitoring the legal and illegal trade of protected fauna and flora species coming through New Zealand borders. This is a crucial task to ensure that New Zealand is meeting its obligations as a Party to CITES. The work of the position involves: Supporting the CITES team with data entry and general administrative tasks Supporting with operational improvement projects Preparation of relevant reports and analysis of data as required The work of the role is expected to be heavily geared towards data entry, filing, and various other administrative duties (as directed).

The successful applicant will work within a close-knit team led by the Team Lead Border Operations. We offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role and its work context. The first few weeks in the role will require a physical presence in DOC's Auckland Office to get up-to-speed on standard processes, with support from the team.

Remote work may be possible for up to two days per week thereafter.
