Allied Health Assistant/Kaiwhina Team Leader Permanent role based in Greymouth 0.5FTE Opportunity to include clinical hours to increase FTE M te tnga | About the role The Allied Health Kaiwhina Team Leader provides operational leadership for the Allied Health Kaiwhina team in the Central Locality (Greymouth) & professional leadership for the Te Whatu Ora Te Tai o Poutini West Coast, Allied Health Kaiwhina team. This role can be combined with clinical workload.

The Allied Health Kaiwhina are a team of unregistered health workers supporting Allied Health professionals, and are passionate about improving the health outcomes of our community. This is a Permanent part time vacancy, 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE) in the Team Leader role with opportunity to add clinical FTE to provide up to 0.

9 FTE in total. Ko wai koe | About You As the Allied Health Kaiwhina Team Leader you will: Provide day to day management and/or supervision of Allied Health Kaiwhina in the Central Locality Provide professional leadership for the Te Whatu Ora Te Tai o Poutini West Coast, Allied Health Kaiwhina team Assist with prioritisation of Allied Health Kaiwhina tasks and movement of staff to meet service needs Be involved in service and policy development, quality improvement activities, and goal setting Working alongside Allied Health Team Managers and the Leadership team Manage some clinical work Ng pkenga me ng wheako | Skills & Experience Essential skills and experience: Minimum NZC HW Health Assistance (Level 3) Minimum 2 years' experience within the Kaiwhina workforce Clearance under the provisions of the Vulnerable Children's Act (2014) Full Drivers Licence Desirable Skills and experience: Experience in people leadership and/or management Experience in quality /service improvement activities Experience making judgements in complex situations where there is incomplete information or solutions are not obvious Knowledge of NZ Health & Disability sector standards and the Privacy Act within a health context M mtou | About us From July 2022 the West Coast DHB transitioned to Te Whatu Ora - Health NZ.
