Reporting to the Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) of Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit, this position will work collaboratively with the CNM to provide operational leadership in the critical care setting. Critical Care Services include the Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit and the Patient at Risk Service. This position will be responsible, alongside the CNM, for the operational leadership of our ICU/CCU teams and the establishment and leadership of our new PAR service, designed to respond to patients with high EWS scores, follow up patients discharged from Critical Care, and monitor patients identified at admission of being at high risk.
Motivated, with a mature attitude and organised approach, you will be flexible and adaptable in this ever changing, fast paced environment. The ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, will be key to your success in this role. Specific Requirements include: NZ Nursing Council Registration and current APC Relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification (minimum Post-Graduate Certificate) Recent, relevant clinical experience and known credibility in your profession Strong leadership skills including collaborative team approach and group facilitation skills Advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion and mediation skills Role model in contemporary clinical practice and clinical leadership Established and well-maintained PDRP portfolio Why choose Te Whatu Ora - South Canterbury?
