We are currently seeking a talented Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Auckland or Christchurch. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting and inspiring our team, fostering a culture of engagement, resilience, and innovation. Your skills will expand to a secondary role in business development, supporting the Section/Team Leader in all aspects of work winning, client relationships, bid preparation and client feedback.
Key responsibilities will include: Lead and undertake Electrical engineering analysis, design, and delivery services for projects. Evaluate progress and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve objectives. Lead and provide technical advice and inputs into the preparation of design documentation, specifications, and reports.
Support the preparation of bids and proposals. Coordination with overseas offices. Attend site inspections and provide technical advice to resolve construction queries.
Conduct internal learning and development/knowledge-sharing on area of expertise. Lead the interface with the entire design team across discipline and organisational boundaries. Balance competing requirements on projects to deliver a design outcome (e.
g., cost v. time v.
quality v. scope). Review complex technical work which requires careful application of existing guidelines and codes of practice.
Address intricate challenges with a proactive problem-solving approach. Mentoring. Health & Safety by Design.
Heres What Youll Need: Substantial experience in Electrical Engineering for: - o Buildings o Health Sector o Mission Critical Facilities (e.g., Data Centres) o Emergency Power Systems and their application.
Proficient in the use of: - o PowerCAD o Navis Works o BIM In particular Revit o Digital Delivery Experience in technical leadership of the Electrical discipline. A track record of successful project delivery, adhering to strict quality assurance systems. Excellent problem solving and issue resolution skills.
Design Management Chartered Professional Engineer status or be very close to achieving Industry memberships and active participation. Professional Registration in NZ An excellent understanding and application of relevant ANZ Electrical design standards and codes (NZS 3000) Significant experience of building construction practices, methodologies, and techniques.
