Capital Zone Basketball Trust - Board of Trustee Vacancy
Wellington
Category Teaching Jobs
The Trust was established in 2016 to support basketball associations across the Greater Wellington region and to assist in utilising basketball as a medium and pathway for youth development, for youth at risk. The focus of the Trust is encouraging participation in basketball both as a sport and as a community benefit. It employs a General Manager and four Community Development Officers delivering programmes, camps and events from Kapiti through to Wellington and across all Wairarapa.
Since its inception, the trust, with the financial support of several stakeholders, has delivered coaching and events involving more than 38,000 participants and plans to extend and widen that support. The trust is governed by a Board of Trustees that has been incorporated as a Trust Board under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957. Trustees are elected for a 3-year term and a maximum of 3 terms under a rotation policy.
The Board now invites interest from those prepared to help grow basketball in the region. Having a basketball interest or involvement is a preference and it would be an advantage if applicants had either board experience or a background in sports administration.
