We currently have an opportunity for Residential Youth Workers to join our Te Whare Tumanako Tuatahi Group Home. To help them achieve this, our Residential Youth Workers, as part of a team, provide daily care and support. They get involved assisting our young people to re-engage with school/vocation, attending appointments, having visits with their family, connecting with peers, and managing themselves within the home. As a casual worker you may be called upon to work a shift covering evenings, weekends or public holidays and may be asked to work more than one day in a row.

Because our casual pool provides support when relief is required you may be called upon at short notice. This is your opportunity to apply your skills and experience to the wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi. Ng pmanawatanga u | What you will bring: We are looking for candidates who: Have experience working with rangatahi Are able to meet the Children's Act safety checking and our vetting requirements Bring resilience, initiative and a proactive approach with a positive outlook Have a strong sense of empathy and patience Hold relevant qualification, training or experience in psychology, social work, sports, music, arts or teaching Have flexibility to work different shifts - mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays Demonstrate sound judgement with the ability to manage risk and make tough decisions Have life experience and understanding of what rangatahi may be going through Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience Bring an understanding and confidence in tikanga Mori and te reo Mori Nu te rourou | What's in it for you: We offer a vibrant and supportive team, flexible work options and a genuine commitment to wellbeing.
