Icelandic Holdings Ltd is a leading chocolate manufacturer and dry goods distribution center in New Zealand. We are currently looking for 1 Chemical Technician to join us in Auckland with at least 40 guaranteed hours of work every week from 7:30am to 5pm. We offer $29.

66 to $30.50 per hour. Duties Your duties will include: Examining food product samples and testing their characteristics (flavour, colour, test, and texture) to be within agreed specifications.

Utilizing equipment to analyse and conduct regular equipment calibration as part of food safety/quality assurance program onsite. Advising on processing, packaging, storing, and delivering food products. Conducting monthly site audit and other internal checks to ensure compliance to food safety program onsite.

Conducting regular testing including product sensory evaluation and environmental tests. Ensuring the cleanliness of equipment and work area are being maintained as per the cleaning and sanitizing procedures. Ensuring food safety compliance, accurate and hygienic packing of various dry goods, powder, and chocolate products while maintaining high standards of food hygiene and quality.

Conducting regular checks of the product (including the packaging and label) and the production area in accordance with the sites food safety and quality requirements. Assisting in testing and upgrading packing material if necessary. Completing and maintaining record keeping of all relevant documentation for production.

This documentation is likely to include quality documentation, ensuring adherence to internal food safety procedures as well as external regulations. Monitoring and assisting the startup, processing, and packing of various dry goods, powder and chocolate products as instructed by site manager. Printing and ensuring correct product labelling and inspecting final product in the production area.

Adhering to the food safety and health & safety policies onsite, including but not limited to foreign matter management, personal hygiene, correct lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and colleagues by adhering to and enforcing onsite health and safety policies. Checking and finalising production paperwork in the ERP system where applicable.

Skills & Experience Applicants must: Have a bachelors degree or above, in Chemistry, Food Technology, or Food Science. Be able to work from Monday to Saturday A minimum of three-month relevant work experience and basic knowledge of food industry Understand the importance of food safety and quality in a manufacturing environment. No criminal record Be organized and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Be an adaptable and flexible team player, willing to pitch in and help your colleagues. Be hardworking, honest, reliable, and motivated. Have excellent attitude and work ethic, supported by good communication skills.
