Permanent, Part-time 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE) Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, Hawkes Bay Community Nursing Service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Better Breathing Hawkes Bay team as a part time Clinical Nurse Specialist. In this role you will support patients, and their families who require support with the management of respiratory and heart failure long term conditions, through the provision of pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation.

You will have an opportunity to work across the health sector including with specialist services in the secondary and tertiary sectors, primary care providers, and NGOs. You will be providing care in a variety of settings across the Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, Hawkes Bay region. This position would appeal to those who would enjoy the challenges and variety associated with working in a specialist nursing role alongside an enthusiastic supportive team.

The team will be focused on providing quality care, to ensure positive outcomes, improving equity, quality of life and supporting and enabling people to self-manage their health conditions. The team are committed to supporting health professionals to develop skills in the prevention, assessment, treatment and management of long-term conditions, with a particular emphasis on respiratory and heart failure, through support and education of patients, families and health professionals across the sector. You will have a current unendorsed NZ drivers licence, work in consultation and partnership with Maori, have a strong equity and customer service focus, and knowledge of the impact of long-term conditions on health outcomes.

This role will require the successful candidate to be practicing at a proficient or expert level as per Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, Hawkes Bay, Professional Development and Recognition Programme.
