Kia mau, kia ita, kia - haumi e, hui e, tiki e Te Tranga | About the role The Spaces and Places team is responsible for the planning, delivery and ongoing management of Parks, Open Space, Community Facilities and Council Property. We create and care for spaces and places that our communities love and where our environment can thrive.
This is a new role within our Spaces and Places Engagement team where you will be working to facilitate the effective management of a network of community facilities, sports fields and reserves. The role has a strong focus on building and maintaining effective relationships with key community stakeholders, so we are looking for someone who is enthusiastically customer focused and takes a proactive and solutions focused approach to problem solving. Reporting to the Manager, Engagement you will be an integral part in our effective, dynamic and fun team to ensure we help to drive great outcomes for our community.
Your responsibilities may include; On the ground engagement with community groups regarding upcoming projects and usage Attendance and facilitation of key user group and stakeholder meetings Coordination and communication of community needs to relevant teams across Council Preparation of reports and presentations to stakeholders and within Council Ng Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you'll bring: Previous experience in community engagement, communications, or a similar role Demonstrated relationship building skills and the ability to engage and collaborate with a large portfolio of diverse stakeholders Exhibit confidence and enthusiasm towards facilitation and engagement, with a proven skill to lead conversations and maintain composure in complex situations Strong organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Experience or knowledge in engaging with diverse cultural groups within the community Tertiary level qualification or other relevant qualification (desired but not essential) Passion for sports and community initiatives will be highly regarded T Ttou Kaunihera | About Tauranga City Council Tauranga City Council is one of Tauranga's largest employers, and we are always looking to attract great talent to join our driven, passionate, and community-focused team.
