Competency Assessment Advisor He angittanga: The opportunity Would you like to work as part of a dynamic team that provides multiple core functions and support within the Building Consents department? Auckland Council's Building Consents department ensures safe sustainable buildings for Aucklanders and makes it easier to build compliant developments in the Auckland region. We ensure there is a strong focus on customer-centric delivery and focus on providing the best business services. We are currently seeking a Competency Assessment Advisor whose role is to ensure the competency and training processes for technical staff are implemented, delivered and maintained.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that any administrative tasks for the team are completed and any initiatives or improvements are effectively implemented for the department. Based Centrally, this is a regional role reporting to the Manager Building Consents Capability. The Capability team is responsible for Auckland Council’s Building Consent Authority Quality Assurance, Training, Continuous Improvement, competency assessments and technical audits, special projects, and specialist functions such as earthquake-prone buildings, Licensed Building Practitioner complaints, product assessments, maintenance of the producer statement register amongst other duties.
The team predominately works within the Building Act 2004 and Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006. He krero mu: About you This role will provide you with the opportunity to make sure the Auckland Council meets its obligations as an employer, and enable you to liaise with assessors, training team, and staff as required. Ideally, you will have at least 2-3 years of experience in managing complex spreadsheets/databases and excellent MS Office skills.
You will be a skilled communicator able to converse with people from all levels of the organisation. We will be looking for specific experience with: Experience in a building-related regulatory environment Familiarity with setting up and facilitating training for large groups or large volumes of courses Experience in managing and implementing Continuous Improvement tasks Familiarity with the BCA Accreditation framework and other quality frameworks Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulatory policy, and procedures Skills in accurately capturing and recording information Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workflow effectively and efficiently to deliver required results. A willingness and ability to work collaboratively and proactively as part of a team.
