M te tnga | About the role The Defence Cyber Security Centre (DCSC) defends and protects the Defence Information Environment against cyber security threats. Help build and support operational toolsets and solutions to enable rapid detection and response to cyber security incidents that enables NZDF to detect and respond to sophisticated cyber adversaries Key responsibilities for this role will see you: Be responsible for monitoring and response capabilities within designated areas of the Defence Information Platform. Lead a team with different tooling in order to conduct incident response from investigation to remediation.
Build your teams ability to quickly identify, analyse, triage, investigate and respond to cyber incidents, where necessary following forensic management processes. Ensure incidents are resolved and documented in a timely manner. Develop the teams understanding of NZDFs networks.
Take ownership of problem solving tasks. Lead a team analysing controls to detect and prevent security incidents. Develop, maintain and improve the teams technical understanding.
Shape the team culture. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is a requirement to go on an on-call roster for which you will be compensated for. Due to the nature of this role, along with systems access, there are limited options to work remotely.
Ng pkenga me ng wheako | Skills and Experience To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate: Knowledge of cyber risks, the current threat landscape and common attacks used. Technical knowledge of enterprise detection, respond technologies and processes. Knowledge of network protocols and operating systems.
Sound knowledge of use of different security technologies. A high level of investigation and research skills. Initiative, agility & flexibility.
That you are a good team leader and player. Knowledge of NZ Government requirements including NZISM, PSR and GCIO requirements. Please review the requirements of obtaining a Top Security Special clearance to ensure you meet them before applying.
