He angittanga | About the Role Reporting to Manager Business Intelligence & Insights, this exciting role that will be responsible for transforming complex datasets, developing and maintaining data pipelines and promoting best practice. The objective is to enable and scale advanced data solutions to support decision-making, promote a data-driven culture and make a difference to the essential services we provide for Aotearoa. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer / Data Warehouse Developer who is a trusted expert, capable of working with a range of stakeholders, and excited about improving data engineering practice: Building and maintaining new and existing data pipelines and data marts Developing and implementing data models Support and maintain analytics tech ecosystem (ETL and BI tools) Documenting data pipelines and data lineage Continuously identifying areas of improvement and ensure application of standards and best practices.
Working closely with other analysts, data engineers, data architects, business stakeholders to build datasets that are fit-for-purpose, well-aligned and understood. Ensure an enterprise approach is undertaken, with a focus on best practices, methodology, automation, consistency and quality data from source. Mu | About you We are looking for someone who has a passion for data analytics, has great communication and people skills, is customer-focused, and willing to work in a collaborative and fast-moving environment: Significant experience in data engineering or similar data role.
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems or other related field. Data analytics techniques and an in-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts (including dimensional modelling). Working with a wide range of data sources including XML and JSON, plus the ability to extract data from APIs.
Python skills would be desirable. Strong understanding of Azure services, specifically Data Factory, SQL Server DB, Azure DevOps and Synapse. Experience with SAS EG and SAS Viya would be highly desirable.
