You'll be leading the Strategic Direction, Governance and Policy Directorate - a trusted partner of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS). As a member of the senior leadership teams you will have responsibility for contributing to the overall strategic directions of both agencies, and provide essential leadership on Strategy, Governance, Policy, Communications, International Engagement and Ministerial Services.
You will ensure that the GCSB and NZSIS have effective and well understood organisational strategies and governance mechanisms in place, that international engagement is well aligned with New Zealand's foreign policy and activities of key New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) agencies, and that strategic communications, external and media relations are managed effectively. You will be the principal advisor to the Directors-General and provide direct support to the executive leadership and governance functions, including their accountabilities to the Minister, the Intelligence and Security Committee and key external relationships. This appointment also holds the function of Chief Security Officer for GCSB.
