We have an opportunity for an experienced technologist to join our development chapter in a people leadership position as a Chapter Lead.

The role is embedded in the Interbank squad, which is a key part of the Payments Platform. Payment's platform provides a backbone to the banking/financial industry, it ensures customers can access funds how and when they need them and ensures that New Zealand's banks run at their optimum passing back any savings to their customers. The Platform is divided into 3 domains, Cards, Cross Border and Domestic Payments with 10 squads.

Cards - Providing cards, point of sale and virtual (google pay, apple pay) processing and products like credit card, debit, acquiring and loyalty. Cross Border - The processing of international products like international money transfers, same day cleared payments, trade finance. Domestic - payments across NZ banks, open banking, ASB digital API's.

Interbank squad as part of Cross border payments that support the delivery of cross border payments. We're part of the biggest disruption in banking and we're working to define a new technology stack and an operating model to match so come join our growing team. M te Tranga | About the role The Chapter Lead has the remit to do this their own way, but this is usually done through Servant Leadership, observation, hands-on mentoring, knowledge transfer, training, implementing tools and guardrails, and staying close to the members of the Chapter to drive open communication.

The Chapter Lead reports into a Domain Lead and collaborates with CXO's (Product Owners) and Platform Lead to keep drive strategic workforce planning and ensure chapter members are fit to deliver the current and future goals of the platform. Having a technical background, the Chapter Lead has a foot in both people and tech camps, meaning you still spend time in tech delivery activities for your squad (design, build and run), driving innovation, uplifting tech capability, setting the guardrails and driving innovation for the Chapter. pkenga | About you Team culture - fosters a continuous learning culture, encourages the teams to demonstrate PACE 'mindsets' and safely test and learn to create new and innovative solutions.
