About Hilton Auckland In your role as Executive Chef , you will be responsible for developing the reputation of the hotel through the production of excellent quality food throughout the hotel, and the development of a high quality kitchen team, whilst setting the highest standards of food hygiene and safety. You will oversee the operational management of the Conference & Events space, Bellini Bar, FISH restaurant and In Room Dining. What will I be doing? This role involves: - Create menus that meet and exceed customers' needs and conform to brand standards - Ensure the consistent production of high quality food through all hotel food outlets - Manage department operations, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and waste management - Manage the provision of food to Food and Beverage outlets and take action where necessary to ensure compliance with current legislation - Control costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins and other departmental and financial targets - Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of menu items, special promotions, functions and events - Ensure that staffing levels are maintained to cover business demands - Recruit, manage, train and develop the kitchen team - Ensure maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues are dealt with in a timely manner - Regular review of all menus with Food and Beverage leadership team to confirm offerings are in line with market trends - Ensure food wastage program is adhered to so that margins are on target - Responsible for ensuring that the monthly working schedules are made and maintained in accordance with local legislation What are we looking for? The successful candidate for this role will bring: - Previous, relevant experience as an Executive Chef within a 5-star hotel environment - Previous experience working in a high quality restaurant - Proven record of managing, training, motivating and developing a team - A creative approach to the production of high quality food - A business focused approach to managing a hotel kitchen - Excellent communication skills - Ability to build relationships, internal and external, to the hotel and the Company - Excellent planning and organizational skills - Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines - A current, valid, and relevant trade qualification (proof may be required) It will be beneficial if you maintain the following: - Work experience within a Hilton property - In possession of food safety/hygiene certificates Hilton Benefits As a Hilton team member you can expect to receive: - Team member and Friends & Family discount on global Hilton room rates - Discounts of up to 25% on products and services in participating Hilton outlets - Access to Hilton University training, offering more than 2500 learning programs - Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Career development opportunities - Complimentary staff meals whilst on duty - Laundered dry cleaning services What will it be like to work for Hilton.
