We are recruiting for a Financial accountant (Finance Specialist (External Reporting)) to join our wider Group Finance team providing project accounting and property lease accounting support within the Air New Zealand Group. Reporting to the Head of Finance - External Reporting and performing as a valued business partner you will be accountable for supporting project managers and the Group Finance team.
Key responsibilities include: Project accounting of significant property and aircraft interior programmes Developing and managing project reporting structures and budgets in SAP Liaising with project managers and monitoring capital projects to ensure status updates are regularly obtained and assets are capitalised in a timely manner Preparing month-end reporting for the projects including capital work in progress balances. Assisting with property lease accounting processes for the Air New Zealand Group Assisting with forecasting of investment spend and depreciation Providing supporting documentation for projects and property leases required for statutory reporting purposes as well as responding to audit queries You will enjoy applying your technical knowledge of financial accounting principles (GAAP) to challenge the status quo. Tertiary qualified you will have three or more years' experience in a Big 4 chartered accountants' firm or large corporate.

You will be a strong communicator, both written and oral, and enjoy interacting with people across a broad spectrum of the organisation.
