The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi The Universitys Alumni Relations and Development Office is seeking to appoint a Fundraising Manager (known internally as Development Manager) to partner with our research institutes: Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI) and Liggins. These institutes attract six and seven figure gifts and play a major role in advancing medical science in New Zealand. We are seeking someone comfortable working in a responsive and lively environment with varied days and responsibilities.
The position's main purpose is to raise philanthropic funds for our research institutes through the effective development and implementation of a coordinated and integrated Fundraising Development Plan. Some key responsibilities include: Fundraising - Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual prospects and corporate partnerships capable of giving significant gifts. Internal Relationship Management - Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills through relationship management, advocacy and negotiation.
You will work closely in partnership with our Directors and ARD team to deliver a coordinated approach. External Relationship Management - Ensure major donors, both individuals and corporates, are recipients of a highly effective programme of acknowledgement, recognition, reporting and engagement. Holding responsibility for prospect management for the institutes, you will personally manage a portfolio of gift prospects through their cycle of development, ensuring each prospect has a well-maintained engagement plan.
