About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has come up at Taranaki's best public regional art gallery - the Percy Thomson Gallery. Percy Thomson Gallery is looking for an energetic and customer focused Gallery Assistant to cover a fixed term (maternity leave - up to 12 months) vacancy. This person would be responsible for assisting the Gallery Director in managing day-to-day gallery operations and contributing to the successful execution of our exhibition programme.
This includes the setup and takedown of exhibitions, maintaining gallery cleanliness and organisation, and delivering outstanding customer service. The position is part time (a minimum of 20 hours per week) and located at the Percy Thomson Gallery in Stratford. The salary for this position is between $24 - $26 per hour and is set dependent on the skills and experience of the candidate.

You will have a strong customer focus and be able to demonstrate excellent communications skills. The role would suit someone who has or is working towards a tertiary qualification in Museum & Heritage Studies or Art History, however this is not essential.
