Job Posting End Date February 21, 2024 Job Location Christchurch Job Description The opportunity As Group Sustainability Manager, you will work collaboratively with the Group Finance Manager and the National Sustainability Managers to ensure our goal of 30% emission reduction by 2023 and net zero by 2050. You will lead and guide a small team of professionals focussing on accurate, timely and relevant reporting of environmental and greenhouse gas data. This is a 12 months fixed- term role.
What you'll be doing Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing data quality, accuracy, and reporting on relevant measures such as greenhouse gas emission. You will understand boundaries and definitions of reporting standards as well as maintain estimation methodologies for environmental impact metrics and what they mean against our set targets. The key tasks of the role include the following: Manage group emission financial reporting and audits including Toitu Carbon reduce certification. Maintain correct reporting methodologies while improving on existing processes, Support ongoing training, development, and education in the sustainability accounting space across the business. Assist with adoption and delivery of new reporting requirements, Forecast and report on relevant sustainability and emission data to ensure informed decision-making by the board.
Work closely with the Finance and National Sustainability teams as well as being a champion of the Future Systems Projects to help them deliver implementations of the new ERP system. What you'll bring to the table You will thrive working in a dynamic environment and understand the important of teamwork in the delivering desired outcomes. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Advanced understanding of carbon accounting practices and JDE (or other large ERP) is advantageous.
A management accountant with a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 5 years post CA/CPA experience preferable. Developed communication and relationship management abilities. You will be well versed in financial reporting, a team player, and an inspiring leader.
