Health Care Assistant - Sexual Health Services Job Number : WAI26894 Where youll be working: Sexual Health Services, Waikato Hospital The details: Permanent, Full time - Monday to Friday Be part of the national transformation in Health Opportunity to develop/extend your existing skills Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity We are seeking a Health Care Assistant to work with a dynamic community sexual health team that cares for people and their whanau regardless of gender or sexuality. We strive to provide a holistic, wellbeing focused service that puts the patients choices at the heart of everything we do. Our focus on Mori health and equity means we would prefer a candidate with knowledge of Mori models of care.
You will be working within a supportive multidisciplinary team who provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment of STIs and other sexual health related needs as well as gender-affirming care. The role includes working under the direction and delegation of the registered nurse, welcoming people who self-refer to the service, assisting people to self-test for STIs, booking appointments, basic triage, and ordering and management of supplies. This is a Monday to Friday role.

We provide clinical management of STIs and HIV and are committed to ensuring people can access gender-affirming care. We have close links with Waikato Hospitals infectious disease team around the management of HIV patients.
