The Health Care Assistant will work with a Starship Community Nurse Vaccinator in a new programme to increase access to childhood vaccinations in community settings with a special emphasis on supporting Mori Tamariki and whnau. This is a full-time permanent role.
The successful candidate will support our nursing and allied health staff in programmes to increase access to childhood vaccinations in the community with a special emphasis on supporting Mori Tamariki and Whnau. The Health Care Assistant will perform delegated tasks requested by the Starship Community Nurse Vaccinator. This will include home visiting families with the nurse , ordering and receiving vaccines, checking equipment and preparing resources.
Training will be provided to support you in this role. From July 2024 the role will include supporting the Starship Community immunisation programme in schools. After gaining experience with this programme there will be an opportunity to train to become an authorised Vaccinating Health Worker in school settings.
