We are looking for a motivated and qualified Diesel Mechanic skilled in heavy plant and equipment. This role will add to our small workshop team to support our operational team and direct/engage external contractors when required. You will bring a high level of technical skill and enjoy varied service, repair, hydraulics and mechanical work on a range of heavy machinery.

This is a permanent position offering 45 hours per week at a starting rate of $32.23 gross per hour. This position operates in a port environment where occasional travel to other ports may be required.

Essential requirements for the position are: Mechanic Trade certificate Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy machinery Being a self-starter with initiative Keen eye for detail with superior workmanship Flexibility and reliability Commitment to Health & Safety Computer literacy Good communication skills Strong time management skills and ability to work unsupervised is essential. Available to be on call during vessel loadings Current NZ driver licence Additional qualifications that would be advantageous: Previous experience working on forklifts, wheel loaders, excavators and heavy log handling equipment.
