We are looking for a new herd manager You will join our team of 6 (including contract milker) on our 1280 cow dairy farm in Ashburton, Canterbury. 80 bale rotary with ACRs, in-shed feeding and Protrack. The farm is nearly fully pivot irrigated with a handful of roto rainer runs.
We also have new bolus technology for animal health monitoring and mating. We are looking for someone who is competent and confident with day to day duties such as milking, putting up fences, weed control and some tractor work with good stock sense but also looking to take the next step in their dairy career and take on some more responsibility in animal health, feed allocation and pasture management. You must be driven with a good hard working attitude and high expectations of yourself.
But most importantly we seek someone who is honest, has a genuine love of animals and someone who has the people skills to listen and learn from others, work cooperatively in a team and enjoy farm life.
