E uiga i le matafaioi - About the role: WorkSafe New Zealand is now hiring full time Health and Safety Investigations Inspectors to join their team in Whakat/Nelson to start on the 25th March 2024. As an Investigations Inspector, you will investigate incidents and events where people have been hurt or a fatality may have occurred in the workplace.

You will start as a trainee and progress through a series of in-house training courses, on-the-job experience, and coaching until you obtain a Certificate of Appointment that gives you powers as an Inspector. As your career continues, you will build your skills and knowledge to become a highly competent Investigator and regulator. To be successful in this role, you will bring a passion for health and safety, a high level of integrity, and excellent judgement.

You should be able to learn quickly, be resilient, and prepared to work as part of a team. You will know how to connect and build good relationships with a wide range of people. All our Inspectors enforce the law when required, so being firm and fair are essential qualities.

The Nelson team is all-inclusive and welcoming. A small close knit team who are part of the wider Canterbury team. The main industries this team deals with are manufacturing, construction and agriculture.

Ideally, were looking to hear from people who have experience in investigations across all industries whether in a health and safety space, another regulator or law enforcement.
