In summary, the role will be responsible for the review and design of IT infrastructure solutions from an operational perspective for transport ticketing systems, including server and storage architecture, network architecture, virtualization, system and network monitoring and management solutions, and disaster recovery. The incumbent will be responsible for the technical leadership of the Technical Support team for IT infrastructure solutions, and for the ongoing mentoring and development of the Infrastructure team to increase the self-sufficiency of this team in supporting the solutions. This role will participate in the development of variations, bids and tenders to provide estimates for operations and maintenance costs relating to the provision of IT Infrastructure and Central Systems support.

This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in the review, approval and monitoring of changes into the environment, and associated production changes through the internal and external change management processes and in accordance with the Change Management Policy Lead the Design and Implementation of new solutions into the Production Environment in conjunction with the Engineering team, the Release and Change Managers to ensure deployments are well planned, documented and executed and result in successful outcomes with robust back out plans where appropriate Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources.
