Judges' Clerk Manukau District Court We are looking for a talented individual to join our District Court as a Judges' Clerk in Auckland. Te whiwhinga mahi/The Opportunity The Judges Clerk will be expected to provide high quality research and support to District Court Judges and Community Magistrates, and to support the Judges and Community Magistrates in determining legal issues effectively. You will have an LLB with a good academic record, excellent written communication skills, and good computer literacy. You are also able to consider the practicality of outcomes as well as their legality. This position is for 2 years fixed term and you will be located at the Manukau District Court. The District Courts Operational unit is comprised of four main jurisdictions Criminal, Family, Youth and Civil. It is responsible for providing the infrastructure and support necessary for the efficient and effective management of the Courts systems throughout New Zealand. District Court Judges are assigned to local Courts, and typically work on circuit within a cluster of satellite Courts, but they may also be deployed on a wider regional basis or elsewhere in New Zealand.
It follows that Judges from other areas may be officiating in the local Court from time to time.
