About the role: We are seeking a 0.5FTE Kaiako, to assit with the delivery of the total immersion Diploma in Te Pnakitanga ki te reo Kairangi Level 7 programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress all of which you will assit with.
Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings. About you:The Kaiako will need to have expert knowledge in ng huatanga o te reo grammatical structures within te reo Mori, whakamori / whakapkeh - accurate translation, prkau / pakiwaitara using stories and legends knowledge frameworks, paki / kawa - formal and informal language, waiata and haka specialised knowledge of traditional waiata and haka, karanga and whaikrero. Ideally, applicants will have: Master (L9) or Post Graduate Diploma (L8) in Te Reo Mori or related subject, or attested equivalent New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment Full and current NZ Driver Licence Experience: Proven experience in a related role Regular engagement or immersion in ng kaupapa Mori Fluency in te reo and ng huatanga Mori and ability to lead in these areas Adult teaching experience Whilst teaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered.
As a kaupapa Mori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of huatanga Mori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable..
