M te tnga | About the role You will be assisting the day-to-day logistics operations and equipment of E Squadron (EOD) with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). This role will act as the subject matter expert for explosive ordnance disposal equipment for one of three Domestic Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Troops to ensure operational response readiness at all times. Equipment will include drones, EOD robots, x-ray and chemical detection equipment, and so much more.

Duties for this role will include: Providing subject matter expert advice in logistics matters, processes and policies. Preparing stores and equipment, including freight, loans, issues and receipts. Managing Troop inventory, equipment maintenance, disposal, and stocktaking requirements.

Liaising with internal stakeholders and external contractors. Providing logistical support to emergency response callouts and supporting other regions as required. This role is based in Arch Hill, Auckland.

Ng pkenga me ng wheako | Skills and Experience You will have previous experience in a logistics based role, such as within supply chain management or a warehouse environment. This role requires someone who is technically diverse, highly organised, has exceptional attention to detail and great problem solving skills, while remaining agile with changing priorities and operational call-out responses. Ideally, you will also have: Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Experience in a junior leadership or supervisory position. Sound knowledge and experience with SAP SRM and/or similar logistics systems, as well as MS Office Suite. The confidence to work autonomously and with discretion, as well as part of the wider team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical equipment requirements. An understanding of military environment and equipment (desirable). Please note: This role requires a Full Class 1 Drivers license, Dangerous Goods endorsement (desirable), and preferably a Class 2 Full Drivers License.

This role also requires the ability to travel domestically as needed. M mtou | About Us E Squadron (EOD), 1 NZSAS Regt is responsible for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (CBRE IEDD), and disposal of stray and unserviceable commercial explosives and ammunition within New Zealands Economic Exclusion Zone and in support of deployed NZDF operations.
