What is a Auaha Makerspace Librarian? This position plays a pivotal role in curating and facilitating creative environments known as Makerspaces. These spaces are hubs of curiosity and innovation where everyone in the community comes together to explore their inventive side.
As an Auaha Makerspace Librarian, you will oversee and manage these communal workshops, which are equipped with a wide array of tools, technology, and resources. The primary goal here is to foster collaboration, inspire curiosity, and provide access to a dynamic space where people can design, prototype, and build anything from 3D-printed inventions to electronic gadgets, promoting hands-on learning and the spirit of DIY innovation. For this role, you must have: Experience in lesson planning, facilitating classes and workshops and making sure learning outcomes are completed.
Knowledge and working understanding of STEM and the multiple disciplines. A practical mind to safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot our many tools and equipment like 3D printers through to recording studio. Great communication skills as you will need to coach others who arent technically knowledgeable.
What are the working hours for this role? This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, working in a fun, creative space with a team of supportive people This role has set work days from Tuesday to Saturday, which will include some public holidays and late nights. Can I work flexibly? Unfortunately, no - our roster are set days per week.
Whats the salary? The recruiting salary for this role starts at $64,200 per annum (pro rata), which is the equivalent of $30.86 per hour, but we negotiate with the successful candidate to acknowledge their level of skills and experience they can bring to the team.
