Opportunity : As the Manager of Procurement and Supply Chain you will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategies and budget for the Pulp and Paper Procurement and Supply Chain Teams, whilst leading and supporting this group of committed specialists to successfully achieve these agreed business outcomes. This senior role reports directly to the Company Chief Financial Officer and in conjunction with the overall management of the procurement and supply chain teams, will be accountable for the delivery of some significant projects what will need to be executed in a timely and accurate manner. Based at either our Mount Maunganui Office, Auckland Head Office or Mills, this role supports teams at our Kinleith Mill (Tokoroa) and Tasman Mill (Kawerau), therefore requires frequent travel throughout the central North Island and Bay of Plenty.

Key responsibilities: Develop and execute the overall strategies and budget for procurement and supply chain to meet business objectives. Lead and grow a committed team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve personal performance goals and agreed business results. Oversee the end-to-end procurement and supply chain process.

Work together with internal stakeholders and suppliers to optimise inventory levels and improve overall procurement and business output performance. Evaluate and review supplier relationships, terms and negotiating contracts to continually improve overall supply chain performance. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills required: A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business and/or other relevant post-graduate qualifications (preferably MCIPS). Extensive experience from leadership and management roles in procurement and supply chain teams within a large industrial and/or continuous manufacturing environment. Demonstrate the ability and knowledge to influence, support and lead a team in the pursuit of excellence.

Possess well-rounded business acumen, communication, and analytical skills. Experience in the knowledge and execution of continuous improvement and project management principles. Advanced Skills in the use of MS Office programmes, with experience in the use of SAP a preference.

Willingness to travel, regular travel between our sites is required.
