We have a fantastic opportunity for 2 Mental Health Clinicians to join our Aiga. In these roles you will work with a passionate team of likeminded professionals in our Mental Health/ THNM Team to provide wrap around support for either adults or youth/adolescents who are experiencing mild to moderate distress within the Waikato Region (Kirikiriroa/Hamilton, Huntly, Morrinsville, Cambridge, Ngruawhia, Te Awamutu) by providing therapeutic case management and case support intervention. These roles are both fulltime positions and cover different age groups: Pacific Primary Mental Health Service: adults aged 19 65 years.
Child and Adolescent, Pacific Primary Mental Health Service: Pacific children and youth aged 5-18 years. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse, Registered Social Worker, or a Registered Occupational Therapist and be passionate about supporting our clients and their families. To be considered for this role, you must have: A current New Zealand full driver's licence.
Full professional registration with current annual practicing certificate of recognised professional Board (SWRB for social worker, NZNC for nurse, or OTBNZ for occupational therapist). An understanding of local community issues and ability to provide intervention aligned with Pacific Health Model of Care - Fonofale and Maori Health Model of care - Te Whare Tapa Wh. A minimum of two years working in health sectors with specialisation in mental health setting (hospital or community based) Can provide varieties of therapies and approaches; Talking Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, Group Therapy (Mental health wellbeing promotions/day programme), Integrated Trauma Focused CBT for an individual Adult and Brief Exposure Therapy.
Passion in working with people with diverse cultural backgrounds. The ability to work independently and innovatively to engage with our clients and their whnau. Knowledge of and relationships with local NGO and Iwi providers.
