This position is within a dedicated service committed to enhancing the well-being of the older person.
About the Role In this exciting role, you will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive nursing assessments to address the needs of tangata whaiora. Collaborating with tangata whaiora, whnau, and other disciplines, you will develop and evaluate nursing plans and treatment interventions. Your contributions to multidisciplinary reviews and discharge pathways will play a crucial role in the journey to recovery.
Additionally, you will provide delegation, direction, and evaluation of interventions by colleagues, while promoting engagement in therapeutic activities and contributing to service development, quality improvement, and health and safety initiatives. About Our Team The team is a specialized community-based service that includes an inpatient facility. Our dedicated team comprises professionals from diverse backgrounds, united by their passion for delivering quality care.
We focus on providing specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to older adults facing mental health challenges. This includes individuals with recent onset functional mental health conditions and those with dementia exhibiting significant behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD). About You As an ideal candidate, you will demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative mindset, working effectively as part of a team to deliver exceptional care tailored to meet the needs of our clients.
Rostered and rotating shifts will be part of your routine, and your clinical experience in older adult mental health or your eagerness to develop expertise in this field will set you apart. Ideally, you have completed postgraduate mental health studies or have the willingness to pursue further postgraduate education. Your ability to work autonomously, alongside your excellent time management and communication skills, will contribute to your success.

Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse.A current New Zealand practising certificate.
