M tnei tranga mahi | About this role Permanent 0.5 FTE role Waitakere Hospital We have another exciting opportunity for a Senior Midwife to join our education team and make a difference for our midwives at Te Whatu Ora, Waitemata. As a Midwife Clinical Coach you will work closely with our new graduate midwives, new staff, LMCs and midwives on the Return to Practice (RTP) programme.
You will also work with midwives who need to refresh their clinical skills and support RTP midwives to transfer into confident practitioners in the maternity setting. This position works in a supernumerary capacity and is responsible for promoting a positive learning environment within the clinical setting that encourages and supports the development of midwifery clinical skills and knowledge, reducing staff stress and therefore enhancing in staff retention. You will demonstrate a commitment to providing good clinical midwifery care and the ability to share evidence based clinical knowledge with others.
You will also need to have the following: Registered Midwife with at least 5 years post qualification clinical experience Hold a practising certificate with no conditions Be engaged in the Midwifery Council Recertification Programme Completed the NZCOM preceptor or mentor training course Completed or participating in postgraduate education Strong emphasis on normal birth and birthing experience would be an advantage If you would like to work in a supportive team environment and have the appropriate skills and experience we welcome your application.
