About the role: The main purpose for the MP Support Coordinator position is to support the engagement between the Te Puke Electorate office of Hon Todd McClay MP, and the wider Te Puke community. Listed below are the core responsibilities. Based in the Electorate office in Te Puke, for 15 hours per week, you'll be working to support the very machinery of New Zealand's democracy.

What you will bring to the role: Your previous experiences in providing administrative support and customer engagement will be nothing short of excellent. You will be comfortable dealing with people and be close to the issues facing the community. Your ability to exercise a high degree of judgement and confidentiality will be second to none.

You will be comfortable being the first point of contact, be highly organised and love working within a collaborative team. Responsibilities: Assist with community engagement and constituent services for a Member of Parliament. Monitor local forums, newsletters, community Facebook pages where required, and maintain established information databases relating to work and contacts made in the community.

Help provide information and advice to constituents on parliamentary processes and services. Maintain established databases and files relating to constituent issues. Raise common constituent issues and escalate complex cases where agreed with the team manager and/or Member.

The pay band for the role starts at $65,630 per annum (pro rata) and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in the Electorate office in Te Puke, for 15 hours per week.
