This role leads a team of 6 talented Mori specialists and reports to the Head of Mori Outcomes Delivery. As a member of the leadership team of Te Waka Kerewai, the Mori Outcomes Delivery Unit for Connected Communities, youll contribute to the leadership of the unit, helping to shape culture, embed vision and contribute to strategic direction.
Collaborating across the Connected Communities department and beyond you will develop, foster, and promote a working and dynamic understanding of Mori in Tmaki Makaurau. As the Mori Participation & Partnership Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving Mori strategic relationships, participation, and decision-making. Your leadership will be instrumental in building strong connections with the community and fostering a culture of innovation and co-design.
You will actively contribute to the planning process, ensuring effective shared decision-making and providing valuable advice on mana whenua and mtwaka engagement. He krero mu: About you We are looking for an influential leader with strong experience in relevant partnership and engagement mahi, with a proven track record as a people leader. You will take a holistic approach to managing partnerships with Mori seen in a te ao Mori context, backed by a strong degree of competency in te reo Mori me na tikanga.
You are able to negotiate and influence across a wide range of stakeholders. Your political acumen and understanding of mana whenua, mtwaka, as well as local government will be key to your success in this role. You have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
You will also bring: Experience with building excellent relationships with Mori in Tmaki Makaurau Strategic thinking you are politically aware, able to operate as an innovative and trusted strategic leader The ability to identify, develop, grow and pursue strategic funding opportunities in support of Mori Outcome deliverables A tertiary degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable.
