Full Time Application Closes 26 Feb 2024 Hawkes Bay - Hastings Registered Nurse Nurse Prescriber Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is seeking an experienced Nurse Prescriber to work with us in our innovative Hauora Heretaunga Practice. About us Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is well respected, successful, health and social services provider, supporting our local community in Hawkes Bay and whanau throughout the East Coast of the North Island. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whanau for over 38 years.
Our Practice Hauora Heretaunga is our Cornerstone-accredited, teaching practice that aims to deliver quality, evidence-based primary care services to our population of almost 7000 patients using the Health Care Homes framework. We are a high-needs clinic, committed to improving inequities in our most vulnerable populations and making a difference to Mori Health. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to delivering holistic care.
As part of our integrated team you will work with: Administrators, Whnau Manaaki, Registered Nurses, Nurse Prescribers, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, On-site Dispensing Pharmacists, a Health Coach, a Health Improvement Practitioner and General Practitioners. You will also have access to the many services delivered as part of our wider organisation, including but not limited to Housing, Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol, Dental, Tamariki Ora and School-based Nursing Teams. The role Reporting to the Clinical Lead Nurse - the role is part of an integrated Health Care Homes team.
You will work holistically with the team to care for a patient population together. Your duties will range from: Providing primary care nursing services in consultation with whnau and integrated care team: Urgent triage (including resuscitation, stabilisation and assisting with assessment as necessary) Assessment of urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, and examination before referral to the GP. Follow up of patient test results and communication with patients where appropriate and according to the practice standing orders policy Undertaking treatment options and carrying out appropriate clinical interventions and procedures including but not limited to counselling, advising and providing information Set up and assistance with minor surgery Health screening We offer a professional and friendly working environment, lower patient to Practitioner ratios, extended appointments, reimbursement of standard professional fees/registration costs, company Life Insurance, Health Insurance, in-house supervision/peer review and are very supportive of staff development.
