Pathway Development Manager Position Description Purpose of the Role To develop and enhance an effective basketball development pathway for all aspects of competitive basketball, including players and coaches. Main Tasks Community Programmes Oversee the effective delivery of Basketball Otagos term community development programmes, including the Diggers and Miners programmes, Girls Got Game, and community outreach programmes. This will include appointment and management of coaching teams, and ensuring appropriate programme structure and delivery.

Oversee the effective delivery of Basketball Otagos school holiday fun camps. This includes appointment of coaches and ensuring appropriate programme structure and delivery. Junior Academy Programme Oversee the effective delivery of Basketball Otagos Junior Academy Programme for Otagos most talented junior players from Under 13 upwards.

This will include appointment and management of support coaches as necessary, and ensuring appropriate programme structure and delivery. Oversee the effective delivery of Basketball Otagos Academy Holiday Training Camps. This includes appointment of coaches and ensuring appropriate programme structure and delivery.

Representative Teams Facilitate an effective process for identifying and appointing representative coaches each year. Organise and manage all representative trials. Oversee the development and implementation of a cohesive player development pathway through the Otago representative programme that produces quality Otago representative teams and players.

This may include coaching representative teams where appropriate, and attending representative tournaments where appropriate. Support representative managers and the BBO Finance Officer to ensure all representative payments are made each year. Coordinate an end of season presentation event for representative teams Coach Development Oversee the development and implementation of a cohesive coach development pathway through the Otago representative programme that produces quality Otago representative coaches.

Provide development opportunities, resources, and mentoring for coaches in Otago Liaise with and work with BBNZ on all coach development opportunities Player Support Liaise with BBNZ on player development and Talent ID to ensure that talented players from Otago get maximum opportunity for development and national recognition.
