About the team: Within the Unit, you will be part of a dynamic planning and policy team which has responsibility for spatial planning and place-making through local area planning, maintaining the Christchurch District Plan, responding to national direction , strategic transport and working with coastal communities on climate change adaptation.
Our team undertakes collaborative planning with community, environmental and development agencies, and our sub-regional partners through the Greater Christchurch Partnership. There are several opportunities available. We are looking for innovative and adaptable individuals with a demonstrable ability for planning at different scales and engaging with others in a collaborative manner to achieve positive outcomes About the roles: You'll be supporting the wider team and advising other Council staff on all aspects of urban and rural planning.
Working closely alongside key stakeholders and the wider community will ensure you identify and advise on emerging challenges and opportunities in the City and wider district. You'll have a background in policy planning and be able to adapt yourself to local government complexities. We have positions available as follows: Senior Policy Planners (City Planning) You'll have a degree in planning and resource management experience with strong practical knowledge of the Resource Management Act to hit the ground running.
