The Portfolio Director leads teams to deliver changes that most effectively enables Waka Kotahi to achieve strategic outcomes and orchestrates efficient delivery that realises meaningful improvements in our operational performance and the way New Zealanders experience the land transport system.

Along with this you will take the lead in the development of investment and business cases, oversee governance, while also ensuring the right resources are in place at the right time.Ko koe tnei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring: A strong track record of budget accountability and responsibility for significant portfolios or work programmes Proven experience writing investment and business cases Extensive experience (more than 10 years) in leading, influencing and building confidence and trust at all levels, from senior government and public sector officials, boards of directors, executive and senior leadership to operational teams Understanding of key related disciplines such as business planning, forecasting, resource management, budgeting and prioritisation. A strong track record of budget accountability and responsibility for significant portfolios or work programmes.

REGULATORYThe purpose of this group is to drive change and transformation across the land transport regulatory system, which includes the regulatory functions of Waka Kotahi. This is achieved by delivering programmes that transform the land transport regulatory system, leveraging capability across Waka Kotahi and the sector. This function will also oversee an ongoing programme of strategic initiatives - initiatives that establish new services, or initiatives that involve substantial changes to services or service levels.
