The Labour Leader's Office (LLO) supports the Labour Party Leader and Labour Party members of Parliament in their parliamentary duties by providing a range of professional, timely, accurate, and high-quality political services, advice, and support. This includes communications services (written, printed and digital), research anything else in here. We are a dedicated, progressive and committed team who ensure the Labour Party Leader and Caucus are well supported.

M te tnga - About the role This is an exciting position for those who pride themselves on delivering high quality and timely information, advice and practical support. You will be passionate about providing high quality and timely information, advice and practical support to the Labour Party Leader and members of the Labour Party Caucus in relation to the media. As a press secretary you will deliver advice relating to media and public relations issues, including campaigns and MP profiles.

You may assist with media interviews and prepare material including press releases, media messages, columns, social media and speeches. You will identify media opportunities and risks. T kete - What you will bring to the role There are several different backgrounds that will add to your success in this position.

The core technical skills that you'll be able to bring to this position are a deep practical understanding and appreciation of the importance research plays in making informed decisions, ability to analyse and collate complex data sets and form these into easy-to-understand sound bites and be a world class problem solver. You'll need to bring the ability to prioitise workloads and deliver on (sometimes) conflicting deadlines. Above all else, your strong interpersonal skills will shine through in any setting.
