About the role We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our friendly and vibrant water team based in Christchurch, to strengthen our Electrical Discipline across New Zealand and deliver our ongoing projects. You will be joining this busy team to deliver challenging, multimillion-dollar and multi-disciplinary projects across New Zealand, Australia, North America and the UK. This is a great opportunity for someone highly qualified and experienced as it offers a good balance between strengthening your technical skills and taking leadership and ownership for work whilst being supported by our design resources locally and across the globe.
Additionally, you will Lead the delivery of Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls and Automation work packages, working together with Graduate Engineers Collaborate with Mechanical and Process engineers on multidisciplinary projects Have client-facing opportunities and site work which offers variety in daily tasks. Be supported by a team of Electrical Designers, CAD and Graduate Engineers across countries What you will bring You will have extensive technical experience in aspects of Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls and Automation Engineering for infrastructure and industrial projects, preferably with a focus on water and wastewater. You also have outstanding relationship management skills and have experience collaborating and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders including local authorities, clients, and partner companies.
Other attributes that will help you succeed in the role: Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline Proven record of technically leading large scale water infrastructure projects within the electrical discipline Solid knowledge of L.V. power systems and design in NZ or Australia.
Strong understanding of Electrical CAD software requirements. 10 years engineering experience preferably in consulting roles.
