Our client, a large shared services organisation located in Penrose, is on the search for for a self-motivated and experienced purchasing officer to assist their busy team for a 3 month temporary assignment. Main Duties Efficiently processing purchase requests for goods and services Overseeing and Monitoring computer generated orders in a timely manner Dealing with and resolving any customer issues, both Internal and external Supplier Liaison Any other reasonable tasks and duties as required by the Purchasing Team Leader to meet the overall purpose of the position Sourcing goods and services according to Purchasing Best Practices Providing any support and assistance to the Purchase to Pay Team as a whole, as required to ensure efficient service within the team. The Ideal Candidate Previous work experience in a purchasing based role Experience using Oracle or SAP would be an advantage Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with a wide variety of people at different levels Good technical abilities Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure Problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the square Learns quickly and can be a productive member of the team A high attention to detail with good accuracy If this sounds like the right fit for you and you are available to start immediately then please apply now with your CV to be considered.
