Join a small dynamic team developing a state-of-the-art medical imaging research centre with expertise in MRI for traumatic brain injury. This role presents the opportunity to be part of the development of a new medical research institute specialising in MRI scans for cerebral trauma. Based in a district general hospital providing secondary care to a regional population of 47,000 people, the radiology department provides a mix of inpatient, emergency and outpatient imaging.
You will work in partnership with the Head of Department and other team members to develop new imaging services and work on continuous improvement and will have the opportunity to be part of a new era with the commencement of a state-of-the-art medical imaging research centre based at the hospital. This will focus on mild traumatic brain injury, with the aim of becoming a world-leading centre in MRI. Applicants are expected to have a general scope of radiologist skills including ultrasound, MRI and CT.
Time is split with 70% clinical responsibilities and 30% non-clinical. It is expected that you will also participate in the on call roster which is currently an at home call one in four nights. Day to day responsibilities include interpreting exams, triaging and protocoling imaging requests, consulting with referring clinicians, and supporting the radiology technology staff.
Light intervention and mammography are optional. There are opportunities to teach local medical and surgical house officers as well as radiology registrars. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS you must be a qualified specialist radiologist with FRANZCR or equivalent specialist qualification.
