M tnei tranga mahi | About this role In this role you will update and maintain Council's rates and water rates databases and undertake the processing of transactional records, for the purpose of billing and collection of the Council's revenue, in line with Council's policies and legislative requirements. You will provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers on policies, calculations and charges, valuations, and other rates and water account details.

You'll assist with preparing and processing direct debit schedules as required. This is a fixed term role for 4 months to provide assistance while we recruit for a Team Leader Rates. Ideally this is a fulltime role however there may be some flexibility around hours for the right candidate.

Ko wai koe | About you Ideally you will have a Diploma or Certificate in Business Studies and experience in a rates role.

You'll be proficient in the Microsoft Office programmes and databases. You'll demonstrate strong time management and organisation skills and have excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. It goes without saying you will have an exceptional customer service skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.

Previous experience in Local Government and an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for Council, will stand you in good stead for this role.
