Do you have what it takes to become an eye nurse? Then, an exciting opportunity exists for motivated Registered Nurses to join our ophthalmology team. You will bring proven experience in dealing with people of all ages and enjoy being part of a team. You will also have responsibility for your own workload and will work autonomously when required.
You also need to be able to adapt quickly to changing clinic demands and be flexible. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your ophthalmic knowledge. You are expected to operate equipment used to diagnose ophthalmic condition.
Part of your role will be to learn and become a nurse injector. This is a permanent position and is Monday to Friday, with clinics running from 0800-1800 hours. No weekends, no night shifts.
M t mtou rp - About our team Ophthalmology Clinics at Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals. These are specialist consultant clinics with registrar support, allied health clinic and nurse led clinics. Our service delivers active management of clinics to maximize their utilization and ensures that expert nursing resources are used efficiently to enhance the delivery of care to patients.
Mo - About you Assessment of all patients attending the clinic Day to day running/management of specialist clinics Working alongside other members of the Multi-disciplinary team Providing patients with information for procedures, surgery and eye conditions, pre-assessment of those patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery. Triaging of patient enquiries There is also a technical role in doing OCT scans, photography, visual fields, assisting in minor surgery, and pathways towards becoming a nurse injector (intravitreal injections). A comprehensive orientation and training is provided.
