M te tnga | About the role In this role, you will lead a team of specialists to deliver the HAC Programme - s remediation workstream.
Work commenced 3-years ago and we - re looking for a seasoned workstream lead to lead the final crucial stages of delivery. Like many NZ employers, some leave-related payments made to our people have been shown to not fully meet the obligations of the Holidays Act 2003; this workstream is tasked with remediating historical pay-related data for our current and former employees and retrospectively adjusting where needed and making payments to those previously underpaid. Reporting to the Holidays Act Programme Delivery Lead and working alongside two other workstream managers, you will collaborate with an external partner to model and test retrospective adjustments to pay data going back to 2010.
Once confirmed models are accurate, you will coordinate the payment process for over 30,000 current and former employees. To ensure the other programme workstreams deliver effectively, you will also contribute to overall implementation and cutover planning and the identification and management of inter-workstream dependencies. Specifically, the role is responsible for: Collaborating with the external vendor to refine and deliver the remediation plan.
Leading, coaching, and mentoring members of the rectification workstream. Providing payroll expertise to ensure remediation models operationalised, are fully tested, comply with requirements, and seamlessly satisfy organisational/financial reporting needs. Developing workstream plans, schedules, resource models and associated budget.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and interested parties, including other Districts, unions, and strategic delivery partners. Identify and manage of workstream-related issues, risks, and dependencies including appropriate mitigation steps and escalations. Provide expertise to the Programme based on experience with the pay-related systems, processes, and practices.
Lead collaboration with operational analytics/reporting teams to ensure robust operational reporting is maintained post-remediation delivery. Be a key contributor and custodian of remediation-related test activity. To succeed in this role, you will have: 5 years project management experience in a medium to large organisations.
5 Years payroll experience. Substantial payroll systems and processing experience in a complex environment. Proven project management / leadership capability and experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
