Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a Research Midwife to join our department on a part time casual basis. The responsibilities of this role include: Playing a key role in the set up and conduct of the Waitemat arm of the multicentre CSteroid randomised controlled trial investigating the effect of the maternal administration of betamethasone (corticosteroid) compared to placebo prior to planned CS at 350 to 396 weeks on the incidence of neonatal respiratory distress (benefit) and neonatal hypoglycaemia (potential harm). Working together with a range of stakeholders including midwives, obstetricians, and researchers to increase local knowledge of the study Integral role in recruitment, coordinating the consent process, randomisation, administration of study medication, performing neonatal blood sugar measurements, conducting questionnaires with participants and data collection Coordination with Clinical Research Coordinator at Liggins Institute This is a part time (4 hours per week approximately), casual role based on our Waitemata Campus Remuneration: $40 per hour For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.
