M te tka | The role Provide molecular techniques (isolation of DNA, RNA, proteins and metabolites and RNA seq analyses), glasshouse technical support for research deliverables within the Smart Ideas -Unlocking the potential of microbial bioactive compounds to promote forest health. This is a programme led by Dr Artemio Mendoza Mendoza from the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences. As part of this role, you will be responsible for research data collection and field and glasshouse trial management.

5 FTE) based at our Lincoln Campus. The remuneration range is $60,000 - $65,000 per annum depending on experience (pro rata to 0.5 FTE).
K tino Pkeka/Whako | Essential skills/experience for the role To be successful in this role you will need: A postgraduate degree in Agricultural or Plant Science Previous experience in RNA viruses from Phytophthora pluvialis. Experience with DNA and RNA from plants, microorganisms. Capacity to analyse Next Generation sequencing data.
Experience in plant pathogens of tress, such as Phytophthora pluvialis and/or D. septosporum. Ability to work in a PC2 research facility.
Ability to follow defined protocols and procedures. Ability to maintain clear and concise records. Has an interest in research work and experimentation.
