M te Kapa | About the team The Voices of Children and Young People team works to ensure tamariki and rangatahi voices are heard throughout the organisation. Using engagement, research, participatory and advocacy approaches, the Voices of Children and Young People team supports Oranga Tamariki to understand tamariki and rangatahi experiences, needs and aspirations, and to place them at the centre of policies, practices and services.

We are looking for an experienced facilitator, connector, advocate and strategic advisor to help ensure the voices of takatpui and rainbow tamariki and rangatahi, together with their whnau and communities, are heard in Oranga Tamariki and influence decision-making. The key focus of this role is to establish and support an external takatpui and rainbow advisory function for Oranga Tamariki, to help ensure the voices of takatpui and rainbow tamariki, rangatahi and whnau, are able to influence policy, practices, services, and decision-making.
This role is also responsible for creating new opportunities for takatpui and rainbow tamariki, rangatahi, whnau and communities to influence Oranga Tamariki decision-making and for ensuring these perspectives are fed into the Integrated Voices programme, to give visibility and impact to their voices and experi.
