Job Title: Senior Business Analyst Role type: Fixed term to 30 June 2025 Location: Wellington Salary range: $96,073 to $128,570 depending on skills and experience Fisheries New Zealand have begun rolling out cameras on-board in-scope commercial fishing vessels with the objective of monitoring and verifying fisher reported catch. The On-Board Camera's Programme is seeking two Senior Business Analysts with relevant experience contributing to large-scale technology-driven business transformations to join our dynamic team and highly impactful programme. Krero m te Tranga - About the Role The Senior Business Analyst position is a critical role on the Programme and will be responsible in translating information from Subject Matter Experts and others into processes, tools, and templates that are appropriate and fit-for-purpose for the specific audience.
Support development and documenting operational enablers required to transition the Programme, the target operating model and business architecture to the end-users. Work collaboratively across Digital Monitoring directorate and other MPI teams to support the effective high-quality delivery of Operations workstream tasks. Support the Programme to plan and deliver its work by providing supporting data, information, and analysis.
Gather insights across internal and external stakeholders to ensure the on-board camera solution meets functional and non-functional requirements and anticipated objectives. Develop and present business papers or proposals to senior leaders and stakeholder groups, presents options and gains sign-off. Input into business case development and budget bids, as required.
Facilitating workshops for internal and external stakeholders, as required. Mu - About You At least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst. Experience delivering business requirements based on organisational needs.
Proven experience in designing and implementing operational and workflow processes. Proven track record in summarising and presenting complex information in a way that it can be easily understood by various internal and external audiences, both in writing and verbally. Experience providing advice and recommendations based on intellectual rigour and in-depth analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritise across competing objectives and actively managing a range of stakeholder and senior leaders.
